Shaunet Alberti

My name is Christina Ortiz and my wife was Shaunet Alberti. We met when we were just teenagers. I was 16, and she was 17. We quickly became inseparable, going to school and working at the same company. By the age of 19, we had decided that we would grow old together. Unfortunately, Covid-19 took her away from us at the age of 43. Yes, 43.

In those 26 or so years, we bought the home that we lived in for 20 years, although, after her death, I had to sell it. The memories were too strong for our children to handle. You see, although my beloved Shaunet had no biological kids, we were proud parents of 5 kids: Elijah, Alexx, Ian, Uriah, and our youngest, Vialynn. I had two, and she adopted the last three. She lived a life that was cut short by Covid. Shaunet started having symptoms on December 17, 2020. She went to the hospital on December 20, 2020, to never return as she passed away on December 26, 2020 – just after Christmas.

I will not get into all the 'if we would have only known'. These last ten months, the children and I have tried to figure out our new normal. We miss her every day. Life will never be the same because she is not here with us.
