Dudley McClurkin, 45, of Sherwood, Arkansas left this world and went to his Heavenly Home on October 10, 2020. He was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2017 and fought a long, hard battle. He was placed on dialysis in 2018. Even through his struggles, he always looked on the positive side and never doubted God’s plan. Dudley tested positive to Covid-19 on September 17, 2020 after being sick for 5 days. He was hospitalized on September 19th and placed on the ventilator on September 24th. His family was unable to be with him during his hospital stay, but they were also quarantined away from each other. This made an extremely emotional and stressful time even harder. He fought a hard fight but Covid was too much and he went into septic shock and organ failure. Amanda, his wife, was able to see him and spend the last 13 hours of his life with him before he lost his battle with Covid on October 10, 2020 at 12:54am. In the last couple of hours prior to his reunion at the pearly gates of heaven with his parents, several family members and friends were allowed to come in and say their goodbyes. We prayed, sang, loved and cried over him.

It was the most beautiful and peaceful ending to a beautiful life well-lived. Anyone who knew him knew that he bled Razorback Red. It was only fitting that he met his everything, Amanda, at a Razorback game in November of 2014. They instantly fell in love and married less than four months later on March 6, 2015. Dudley has never met a stranger and was always the life of the party. To know Dudley was to love him. Although he never had any children biologically, he loved kids and made it a point to have special relationships with his nieces, nephews and most importantly, Amanda’s son, Grayson. He loved Grayson with everything in him. Their bond was incredible. Dudley was passionate about many things in life. He loved Jesus and his family. He also enjoyed deer hunting, golfing, fishing and all things Razorbacks. He taught Grayson to be passionate about everything he does and how to use that passion in positive ways. He loved working with Awana and VBS at church before his health declined. He will be dearly missed and loved by everyone blessed to have known him.
